Yeah, construction lumber has almost doubled since January.
Bought OSB this week costs me $38.97.
what's causing the increase, is it because companies are shutting down?
we're in the middle of a project, and think we should buy what we need before it gets worse.
Hyper inflation...the inevitable stock market crash. If you have to buy construction materials, I suggest doing it as soon as possible. This is gonna get worse rapidly before it gets better.
thanks for the details. we still have a a lot to buy & I've noticed many things are already out of stock, so sounds like I need to get busy.
Covid is a huge factor affecting sawmills and transportation, from what I've read. I too long for the days of <$4.00 2x4's
Multiple homes were destroyed in the ANTIFA fires on the West coast. Insurance pays out, conservative families move & pay large sums to rebuild in better areas for family, libs move because they now have cash to, and the price of building/relocating in mass increases the price.
Katrina had a similar effect on many building/decor prices. Also the last fires in CA did that to Utah home prices around 2002.
Watch the disasters & look for what is required to be replaced. I need to study the Spanish Flu so I can see which industries were needed once it was finally finished.
