Starting with one will help lead to the other.

There are many genuinely kind hearted (yet naive) white liberals who watch 10 minutes of NBC/CBS/ABC news or catch the occasional NYT story, who then base their political opinion on what has been presented to them as the “kind” and “decent” one to have.

Then if someone tries to tell them they’ve been sold a lie, they don’t believe it, because why should they question the MSM?

But if real “people of color” they know and work with start espousing ideas that contradict the MSM, and as they start seeing the ramifications of the MSM’s policies in their own sheltered life, then the disconnect between the media and reality will start feeling real.

Now... whether these types of white liberals are actually of any value, considering how naive and easily manipulated their “kindness” is... that’s another discussion.
