I’m angry. And insulted. You’re right, what does it accomplish? Most of my friends & my fiancé’s are based conservatives, so they’re not vaccinated either. I’ve got a few rebel family members who’ve said no, too. So I honestly see it as an attempt to manipulate me. This has destroyed people’s minds, man.
My charitable explanation is that it is hard for parents to let go, and marriage is leaving them for this stranger. It is a last effort to control and as you describe it sounds like that it is also useless and your fiance agrees. I don't think it would help to rub in that they aren't going to be making decisions like that for you but if you can find a nicer way to say your mind is made up, that's the way to go.
If it's the bride's family, run immediately.
I am the bride, and it is my family.
If they don't wanna show, great! Save on catering! Positive outcomes abound!
Take a stand even if they all walk away from you.
Make sure the wedding happens on a Friday.
If it doesn't work out, you haven't wasted the whole weekend.
Just kidding. Very best wishes to you both. Enjoy.
I missed the original post, so how do you feel about it? What is it supposed to accomplish for you to be vaccinated? What if invitees aren't?
