Florida has been open, free, and back to normal for so long - I sometimes forget that other states are still living in Democrat Communist Governor lockdown hell.
People forget that the States were always meant to have MORE power than the Federal govt. Hence the very SHORT list of areas where federal supersedes state.
You have to admit, its one hell of a way to emphasize states rights when you have a federal government that is ostensibly rotting at the head, with defective house, executive and courts.
I think that may in fact be part of the lesson we are all learning during this mess.
The Federal government was never meant to tell the states what to do, or how to operate. It was designed to coordinate commerce, military, and foreign policy objectives (which were also intended to be minimal).

When civics and true American History aren’t taught in schools, generations grow up thinking the federal government is the end all be all, when that is the opposite of what our founders intended. They wisely realized that a big, centralized government can easily, and often does, become tyrannical. But, ya know, details....
