They did break the monarcy and bring about the most successful and copied means of governing, the parliamentary system.

Define 'success'.... Our parliament (and I would guess most which follow the same system) are rotten to the core- cronyism and old boys school favours (bloody spellcheck me. Fine. Favors). We are very much still in a serfdom.
