"Ryan Colakovic, 26, of Mankato, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2021 in Minneapolis. The cause of death is yet unknown. Ryan was born to Dana and Branko Colakovic on July 2, 1994 in Faribault and raised in Mankato. Ryan was a senior student at the University of Minnesota Medical School, about to graduate with his M.D. degree. He had a big heart and warm personality, and was a loving and dedicated son and brother. With unbearable sadness, his life was cut short.
Ryan graduated from Mankato East High School in 2012. During his school years, he was a member of orchestra, swimming team, track-and-field, math league, and many other student groups. Ryan received his 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed playing chess and other hobbies.
Ryan graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2016 with his B.S. degree with double majors in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. He served on many student organizations and clubs. Ryan was a long-time avid volunteer in the community, and also served as a science fair judge for years.
Ryan is survived by his parents Dana and Branko, sister Myra, brother Stevan, half-brother Kenneth, half-sister Zora, fiancé Becky, uncle Rod, aunts Angelina, Diana, and Shao, and twelve cousins and their children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A private visitation and burial will be held in Mankato."
