My suspicions lie in the miss placed commas on the numbers. I don’t reckon it’s just an Indian thing.

Wow What a complete mess that numbering system is.
Under the Indian system:
1,00,000 = One hundred thousand
BUT ALSO
1,00,000 = Ten million
AND ALSO
1,00,000 = One trillion
So the same number can mean multiple things!?
That system is kinda the antithesis of 'mathematical' tbh.
