Never ever EVER sell precious-metals (or anything else) through PayPal. You've been warned. Buy? Maybe. Sell? No.

PayPal is one of those services that seems useful while it's working, but one day your money will be locked up or taken and all that convenience goes out the door.
Crypto and smart contracts really are the future. Imagine in your case OP if there were formally defined shipping, receiving, and insurance contracts associated with the transaction? A mathematically tight sale.
Let me summarize what you said.
Digital payments are bad. Digital payments are good.
Anything digital can be scammed, spammed, corrupted, lost, fraudes, etc. You make your bed.
Plus one to you for your enthusiasm. Work on your accuracy though.
Great response!
This is what we don't understand about Crypto.
Paypal = centralized digital payments, with an overseer who has the ability to prevent you from accessing your funds.
Crypto = decentralized digital payments, with no overseer that can prevent you from accessing your funds.
Noted, but I think with everything we’ve learned over that last few years, nothing digital should be considered safe. The tech out there is so far advanced that it can probably crack crypto. And even it couldn’t, it could definitely crack the devices on either end accessing the crypto.
Back in '08, Paypal was the enforcement arm of the tyrannical management of ebay. The rules were arbitrary, the punishments were loss of income and fewer avenues for appeals.. When Donohoe became CEO, the writing was on the wall and Many small sellers left the selling side and went to the forums like Seller Central to expose the scams of Paypal. Banishments were common (just like FB) and nuking accounts on our own were common responses-what was a phenom was turned into an executive pay for play scheme and it is reflected in the virtual flatline stock price where ONLY execs make the big bucks when they sell their stock..
The 3 deadliest letters or a pop site to use??? IPO..
