The sad part is I remember when they just had a few small stores, The small communities and rural folks made them who they are today. A sad turn of the tides against those who built them IMO.
All businesses are this way. Do not ever act surprised because they all are this way. There may be a few rare cases of honest businesses but that would indeed be rare.
Walmart began as a small store and look at it today. Anytime a business becomes big enough to have a corporate office then they are no longer working for the customers.
Corporate offices are strictly about the profit. Mike Lindell with Mypillow has remained honest because he is in control. If he ever got a corporate office, board of directors, publicly traded stocks, his company too would be lost.
They can even fire the boss. The Papa Johns guy was fired from his own company for saying something racist. I believe he was fighting it in court but I haven't heard anything from it.
The only way to get the message to these stores is to boycott them forever. Businesses have to learn that "OUR" business is not guaranteed and that we can choose to shop elsewhere.
Some places might change and do better but it will be fake because they'll only do it to avoid losing more money. They have to see that if they go against the customer that they face a high risk of going out of business.
Without the customer, these places do not exist. Earlier when I said all businesses are this way, the vast majority are, if not all. Some will not play the mask games because they simply want to make money. They will not treat you nicely because they value you as a customer but simply because they want your money.
It is a shame that the majority of normal employees have the best intentions but do not want to lose their job. I never fault store employees but I stand firm to what I say and believe and as it goes in war, there will be casualties. I don't feel bad if anyone loses a job though because anyone that has any shred of motivation will find another job, often times a better job.
When a business says wear a mask then later reverses when they lose a lot of money, you should not go back to that store because if they fuck you once, they'll certainly do it again.
For those living in small towns, all I can say is if you want to stand up against this then drive to another city or county. Some states I hear are just horrible so I don't know what to say about that honestly.
Unfortunate but true. Some are not as bad as others though. There's a Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Publix, and Family Dollar, all within about 2 blocks of me that don't bother anyone about masks.
Most of the time the employees at the DG nearby don't bother wearing masks. They keep the little mask sign on the door to appease the idiot clowns of Hillsborough county and city of Tampa but it for sure isn't enforced.
Restaurants here don't care either about masks but I sure do feel bad for employees sometimes. So many people have to risk their health by wearing a mask 8+ hours a day or risk losing a job.
Here in FL, most jobs are at will which means anyone can be fired without a reason needed so if a store tells employees to wear a mask they do it or look for a job that won't require it.
There's a local owned gas station across the street and they rarely wear the masks so when I want something that I can get from there, a lot of times I'll support them.
I shop more at DG than I used to because they don't play the mask games. Walmart has people at the door enforcing masks but once inside no one says anything. I rarely ever go to a Walmart anymore though which is a good thing.

Any time a business becomes successful, it is bought by the corporations and absorbed or closed down. Happens every time.

I’m surprised to hear about this from them. Sad.
