I consider myself a new pepe (joined in January this year), so to all those who have been awake for over a year, I'm curious what your reaction to the pandemic, lockdowns, etc. was as well as what other people online were saying at the time. Did it play a big part in confirming your beliefs?

I gave it the benefit of the doubt for the first couple of weeks and was helping friends and family get ahold of sanitizer/gloves/masks. But then the news wouldn't shut up about lines out the door at hospitals and clinics being overwhelmed as people were dying in the hallways waiting to be seen.
I work in an urgent care (which is ordinarily overwhelmed on a normal day), and despite management preparing for a huge influx of covid patients, we were a ghost town. So was the hospital next door. At which point, I realized we were being fucked with.
Ya the lie of hospitals being completely overrun was the first sign. Also the whole HQC situation, it’s very clearly a widely available drug that we already have that combats the virus. That should have been the end of it.
Identical to you.
Nothing like this had happened before and I just thought the U.K. govt were a little slow but now they’ve got our backs.I wised up by mid April 2020 when I realised it was all phoney.
Unfortunately for me I hopped off the bus as everyone else’s round me was getting on.
It’s like the old ladydown my street was slow to get a mask, wear a mask, stand 6ft apart etc. Isolate from loved ones
Now she’s permanently masked, wears gloves and sticks to what the govt says but they know best.
Last week she was talking with a neighbour 6ft apart in the open air. Both had masks on but this lady was also wearing one of the plastic dental face shields.?
I’m much the same way without the medical job. I knew something was up after the first couple of weeks.
