This could contribute to pushing the decoupling from China that Peter Navarro champions. We know the current administration won’t get tough on trade with China which could boost manufacturing here. Maybe a container shortage will push the same outcome.
click-bait bullshit. Too much freight being shipped around the pacific, and transportation is struggling to meet the demand.
Linear thinking idiots. Businesses will shift to alternate sources and/or alternate routes... and heaven forbid - local sources of goods instead of getting them from the other side of the planet... oh noes!
You bet wrong. I read the original article on ZeroHedge, and that is what I was commenting on. Tyler Durden's prognostications are frequently wrong.
So what if imports are exceeding the capacity of available shipping in the Pacific? 95% of the US economy and imports are confined to North America. Canada and Mexico are our biggest trading partners by a mile.
ZeroHedge has their panties in a twist about the potential to have difficulty in the future shipping some of the remaining 5% of our trade. yawn
