When I received the email stating that the UC and State schools were going to require the Covid Vax, I immediately copied and emailed the admissions office the Fontline Doctors Vax letter. (They aren’t taking phone calls and don’t promise to even return emails within 3 weeks). This was the reply back I received today, so I THINK my daughter is in the clear for a while, though I may still head down the exemption path preemptively.
Dear “MOM”,
Thank you for your email. This requirement is contingent upon full approval of one or more vaccines by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA), and adequate availability of fully approved vaccines.
The CSU also indicated that students, faculty and staff will be permitted to seek an exception this fall, to include an exemption for medical reasons, and more information about that guidance will be shared at a later time.
Please continue to watch your SCHOOL email for more information and updates on the vaccine requirement and exemption process. SCHOOL sends formal announcements and major updates to your @SCHOOL.edu account, and also updates the public-facing COVID-19 page regularly.
If you have further inquiries please respond to this email or visit our Virtual Front Desk (available Monday-Friday between 11AM-2PM PST). Thank you for contacting the Prospective Student Center.

Maybe this will give other parents a bit of peace, if not in the short term.
Sounds to me like they're backpedaling after receiving your email, lol!
I'm betting their email said nothing about this the first time around:
"This requirement is contingent upon full approval of one or more vaccines by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA)..."
No, it for sure said nothing like this, and I had been waiting for this email. I would never had know about the letter had I not been reading here.
The scenario I try to compare is the state of South Carolina and school permission slips (field trips etc.) In South Carolina all public schools formally send out permission slips to be signed by parents/guardians, even though they carry ZERO legal weight in court. That's right, schools send these forms hoping you are stupid enough to not know they carry no protection for the school's liability. Short answer, they hope you're too uneducated to question their demands because it usually works for them.
Yep
Good work.
Keep the pressure up.
Daughter had a full ride scholarship with the navy. Dropped out a few weeks ago over the vax. Very sad. She is a true patriot.
The notice online from UMass Amherst about 'mandatory vax' read a little wishy-washy, like they were implying waiting til full FDA approval which they (sort of) expected. I'm waiting and seeing. So many problems with the shot, I'll see what happens thru the spring and early summer. They say trials won't be complete til 2023... but these guys don't always play by the rules....
i live in NorCal in Chico where Cal State chico is and i just read an article this morn that they are requiring it. i thought this was ridic and glad to hear you wrote and that at least use the excuse that they are waiting for FDA, etc. stay vigilent! i don't live here for school and am 39 yrs old so having nothing to do with cal state but they are acting full rahtard....same as the city council. they're all consumed right now with the homeless and being sued. i am leaving CA this summer again thank god but stay vigilent fren. fuck getting the vax to pay your own money for a democratic led education
Do you know of any doctors in California that would help get a vaccine exemption? I have the same problem as you
