I was feeling pretty down today after the events of yesterday, and also got news that all our classes would be going online again. I hate online teaching, but that's besides the point.

In my break I quickly walked to my favorite coffee shop, it has an outdoor booth where I usually order. As I was waiting for my order, an elderly woman walked out without a mask. I was stunned, I immediately gave her my biggest smile which she returned, we stood beaming at each other...

And then mister Smith showed up (you know like in the Matrix where Agent Smith shows up to protect the matrix), suddenly she got this frightened look in her eyes, started apologising to me for not wearing a mask. I told her Kenchana, which is Korean for "it's ok, don' worry". Then she proceeded to cover her mouse and nose with, WAIT FOR IT, her hand! Yes, her fucking hand that could have been goodness knows where. She stepped around me, kept her hand over her nose and mouth and proceeded to keep it there until she was "safely" back INSIDE the coffee shop.

I don't know, the disappointment after that brief moment of happiness was much more of a gut punch than just regularly seeing everybody masked up all the time. After more than a year, it's really getting to me.

I finished my last video asking people to pray for me for wisdom. The original plan was to go back to South Africa at the end of October (earlier if they start mandating the jab) this is based on financial and logistical reasons, but honestly I don't know if I'm gonna last that long.

Please pray for me for wisdom. And know that all of you are in my prayers every night.
