Lol I bet China had the same idea in mind with hornets. “Hey let’s produce a hornet that can make other normal hornet larvae die so we don’t have to get stung by hornets” (or whatever.). Enter the Murder Hornet.

In our case... let’s produce this gmo mosquito to get rid of scary disease carrying regular mosquitos. Billions of birds and frogs etc die because they relied on mosquitos as a food source.
