To be fair, Im almost certain that we invented the term back in late 2017/early 2018. We were calling a lot of people (X) Anon. VIP Anon, FBI Anon, so Q became commonly known as Q Anon, that was before any articles were written about us.
Even on Voat there were a lot more Anons getting named (idk if that defeats the purpose of being Anon but who cares). DNC Anon, Staff Anon, (Military Branch) Anon, Boy Scout Anon, and I think FBI Anon came back.
