If you're now to Scruton, the absolute best place to start is his BBC film Why Beauty Matters. I feel like it encapsulates everything else in all his other writings and ties them to visual art and objects that make it easy to understand and recognize. Plus it's letting you in on a secret about Modern Art and why it's so awful.
