The news was announced yesterday afternoon, to be effective May 1, which is today. I was thrilled when I set out to shop at Publix this morning hoping to see maskless people in the store. Alas, all the staff were still masked and all the shoppers I encountered were masked. I asked the woman packing my groceries why she was still masked and she said they’re still required to mask for now.
What’s with that Publix? Still waiting for someone to give you “permission” to let your employees breathe freely? Glad I haven’t used a shield or mask in months. Y’all need to get a clue! We’re DONE with masking.
In GA. I haven’t worn a mask in Publix/Kroger, bar, restaurant, small biz in 10 months. Costco is the only one and I have it half on when I walk in and drop it under my chin for the duration. They fucked around and are about to find out. I will cancel them if they say anything. They know they are in trouble.
Same here. Vote with my wallet if anyone makes an issue. I used to wear earbuds to pretend I didn't hear them, but now I just smile and say no thanks if I'm offered a mask. Walked into FedEx the other day and the soychild behind the counter jumped back a few feet as I approached. Both sad and mildly amusing. Went about my business with a smile.
It's not that hard - stand your ground and inspire others to do the same!
