Yes, for a "by the book" reason. I believe the military has that Dominion data already, but I don't think that's the way they will move forward without looking like a dictator/coup attempt. But if you also get that data during a forensic audit... well.

I think the military has the days too. If the machines were hooked to the internet during the voting, even though it's wrong to hack the military still probably hacked and got all the data. That evidence is not allowed to be held in court because that's evidence gotten illegally. But the foresic audit is evidence that is usable in court. I think. In not a lawyer but they makes sense to me.

This is called parallel construction. They had the goods but they had to go via the normal and legal means to get this out in the open.
