What if the applicant doesn’t have social media? I actually got denied for a marketing management position in a very well known resort chain due to my lack thereof. I was a beta tester for Facebook and deleted my profile 2 years ago. I personally don’t do anything social from LinkedIn to Instagram. Nothing.

I was told they use it for reference. I gave them a congressman, a retired brigadier general and an established business owner.
