Years ago, as our school district went All In on fuzzy math, and being on the school board at the time, I decided to do a deep dive into the subject. Come to find out that this is exactly why they were making the curriculum where kids have to “discover” the answers and rely on the smarter students to teach the rest. I found the papers of the Educrats discussing how to hold back Asian and White boys so that all other groups could keep up with them in math. No one believed me, and the Administrators tried to set me up with a false accusation to silence me (this is how politics works—you just have to go on the offense and demand names...). Anyway, I was unable to convince too many people—most are unwilling to fight for years and years and do believe schools have nefarious plans like that. But I was able to pull my own kids out and convinced a few other friends who had math smart kids, and we were able to have our kids skip the mess. I have some old Math text books that are brilliant and actually make math relevant and enjoyable.
