It's almost like the high price of BTC and ETH make it psychologically inaccessible ("I can't even afford one."). So instead of saving up for a fine champagne-grade coin like BTC or ETH, or buying a 'sip' of one through a fractional share, people buy the "malt liquor" coins and enjoying them just as much.
I don't see this as a problem. I love waking up and seeing all the crypto up every morning and more and more people around me owning it. I thought DOGE coin would be the first coin to die but this resurrection story is a joy to watch.
