When you see an informative meme, or someone saying something you don't know to be true....if you then ask for a source without first having tried to find one yourself, you're still a sheep.
If you tried and failed, ask for a source.
If you didn't try at all and ask for a source, you're a sheep. Plain and simple. You're still forming your own mind by the work of another. This weakens you.
Don't beg for sauce like a sheep; hunt down that sauce yourself like a LION.
Asking someone else to do something that you could easily do yourself is a sure sign of being a fag/sheep.
I disagree with the OP, but agree with this statement. I absolutely agree with k-mager.
Part of learning how to be both an effective communicator of information AND a discerning reader is analyzing source data for bias, credibility, etc. As you wrote in the OP, research is important. There's no point in an OP that's trying to make a factual point NOT having sources.
To be fair, there are also readers who are easy to spot being lazy. If you're going to ask for a further information than a good OP provides, at least do so with tact. Better yet show how you've made an attempt to find the information yourself, and failed.
Research isn't an easy thing to do, especially with information as disperse and gatekept as it is these days, hence I believe it's critical (and polite) for an OP to show their work, so others can learn how to do the work themselves. I say this as someone who personally struggles with research on the Internet.
Please accept my ramble, just need to point out that all who ask for additional sources are being lazy. It's often a case of not knowing enough about Library Sciences.
I get your frustration though OP. I really do.
