Ethanol gets a bad rap.. I switched my truck over from running 93 to E85 last year.. Instead of paying $3.30 a gallon for 93, I'm paying $2.40 for E85 and getting 105 Octane from it. High Octane means I can run more timing and make even more power!
It's bad for most other applications, notably for marine and small power equipment. It is also less efficient by a degree than standard gasoline. That said, if you can tune your engine and have access to a high enough ethanol content, you can get a poor man's version of what is essentially a type of race gas.
Anything brass for sure. So really anything with a carb.. My mowers and my Vintage Motorcycle get nothing but Non-Ethanol 90.. but for everything modern it's pretty good stuff!
I've been wanting to switch to it, but I don't have a flex fuel sensor so I need to manually tune for it. And it's not readily available here enough to make a long trip without having to get at least some regular 87.

It destroys small engines
