It has for me. I also have two different IM conversation groups with about twenty people in them. If I can't get a message out on the whole platform I start posting it to IM, and that will always work with the 'dot' trick for now at least. I'm sure they are working on it.

Also, just add some extra spaces in the addy to break it up.
