IIRC, Jude Law's character was a "conspiracy theorist" who turned out to be pushing a snake oil treatment for the deadly virus.

He has my favorite line in the film, which fortunately is logically sound; when the government tries to "confiscate" his blood/urine to test if he has this virus, he refuses on the grounds that it's "his property". I've always considered that to be a reasonable point to make if one were ever in that situation.
