As someone who was around through the LA riots in 1992, here's a small piece of advice for anyone: ALWAYS leave yourself room to get out. Don't pull right up to the car in front of you - leave room to turn and hit the gas. Better yet, get yourself into a big-ass, powerful vehicle that can plow through things with ease.
