You don't have to be "Christian" to follow Christ and let Him lead you.

Most Christians follow their church leaders and have only a nodding acquaintance with Christ.

Develop a personal relationship with Christ and the New Testament. If you feel like it, then look for a church. Maybe a home church with friends.

Christ himself said a lot of people claim to do things in his name, but he does not know them.
