I'm using 'wargaming' as a strategic planning term, not some weird vague call to violence.
And the v-word misspell is to defeat algorithms elsewhere, not necessarily here.

People "dropping dead right and left" has a very low probability. The spike protein is not deadly in that way (that we know of).
A more likely outcome is that people's health will be significantly compromised long term. Maybe sterilized... A very definite wake-up call for the NPC's.
How they will react is anyone's guess, but my bet is that whatever they do will be stupid - that is just part of who they are.
