The problem is that there is no viable alternative. The other main parties are more-or-less the same or worse than the Liberals.
There is the PPC, but right now I think their main goal is to win at least a single seat. They are in no position to challenge for national leadership.
If you think of the USA situation when the choice was Obama-Romney, Obama-McCain, Bush-Kerry, Bush-Gore, etc. you have the general picture of how things are right now.
Put that together with only a very small alternative media presence (no TV, no radio, no print - only a handful of online outlets) you will see why many feel like there is no way out at the moment.
