I have been very busy recently and I just found out the plan to end advanced math in Virginia. This is so terrifying. I am not sure what is scarier, this radical change to the public school curriculum or the fact that most people in Virginia do not even know it is a thing. When I told a few leftists they were like no way that's true and pointed me to a Washington Post article, then of course they didn't respond when I sent them a link to the VDOE website. The stupider the sheep are, the easier they are to control.

What they are doing is opening the door for Alternative Education schools. Students who want to get into better colleges or go into engineering or science programs... will simply transfer to private schools or find alternatives.
The public education will earn it's reputation as a failing warehouse for the rest of the students. If you want to watch something funny... watch how fast Asian students transfer out of Virginia public schools.
Yup I agree. I have wondered if they won't give accreditation to private schools if they don't adopt this system. I went to public school in VA for K-9 and I found public high school not challenging enough so I transferred to Catholic School. I can say that Virginia public schools even in NoVA where they are supposedly some of the "best" public schools in the country are already significantly behind Catholic and private schools. I found Catholic school much more challenging and I was much better prepared for college than those that went to public schools
