I've driven by the big windmill farms in CA (where it may make sense because the winds are so reliable/predictable in certain areas, and it is on land where the turbines can easily be serviced), and so many of them appeared to be non-functioning (but there are so many, perhaps it doesn't matter). I think the offshore windfarms will be a huge disaster, except for those making money selling them and installing them.
