'God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. '
Genesis 1:27
'For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Professing to be wise, they became fools, '
Romans 1:21-27
God's word has been so diluted, manipulated, misinterpreted, misrepresented, and down right lied about by the seminaries and "churches" for decades. When this is over, 95% need to be shuttered, the non-profit shit needs to be eliminated, the properties all liquidated and forced to start over from scratch. They can start in houses. No room for the rock band w/ smoke and mirrors.
In the original languages the Bible was written in that being Ancient Hebrew, Ancient Greek etc. words have multiple meanings that change depending on how it’s used. In a translation You could potentially change the meaning of the entire passage simply by how you define a couple words.
It wouldn’t be particularly far fetched to believe someone at some point released deliberate mistranslations to suit their own ends.
Especially given how most early Bibles and Biblical translations ultimately originated in Rome with what would become the modern Roman Catholic Church. An entity that even in its hey Day had a reputation for corruption and sticking its nose where it shouldn’t.
I’d say it’s probably almost likely it occurred. Probably repeatedly.
I think the sovereign God has control over whether or not His Word was manipulated or not... If it were manipulated, it wouldn't have been outside of what He allowed to happen.
Attacking the inerrancy of the Bible has been going on since God gave Moses the Law. I'm sure He is used to it by now as He saw it coming in advance before He breathed creation into existence.
Unless God has told you this directly there is no reason to believe it. God allows every evil under the sun to exist. Including manipulation of His Word. At the end of the day, the Bible is a book written by people. The Word of God is Jesus Christ. John is very clear about this. The Bible is not God nor incorruptible or inerrant. Only God is that. Remember the warning of the Second Commandment. Do not call anything made by the hands of men God. That doesn’t just mean statues of Zeus, that includes the trappings of religion
Only God is God.
You don't need the bible to tell you that this is a perversion of nature and mind. It's obvious.
Indeed you don’t.
I was more so adding to the point of the person I replied to.
Yep. People who took the time to read the Bible using a lexicon know this. You’ll see three words turned into multiple paragraphs. Both Ancient Greek and Hebrew are massively simple languages. There is a lot of interpretation going on to extend it to English.
Some of the implications of some of the passages when read in the original languages are actually quite interesting with some of them seemingly conflicting to varying degrees with traditionally established Christian religious doctrine.
Granted I’ve only ever made it through Genesis using a lexicon. But still it was an enlightening experience. One I’d highly recommend.
