the Senate's audit Twitter account accused County election officials of deleting files off a server before it was delivered.
They didn't accuse "County election officials."
Basically they are debunking a false statement.
Here's what they posted.
Breaking Update: Maricopa County deleted a directory full of election databases from the 2020 election cycle days before the election equipment was delivered to the audit. This is spoliation of evidence!
Those are some pretty small databases for the 11/03/2020 election. I suspect these are not the databases actually used. These could be test runs in a non-production environment
Who had access to the machines on April 12th and why were they deleting/modifying files?
If it's what you have highlighted you might want to ask your experts to take another look. ldf is a log file, not a database, and it is absolutely routine to purge log files.
Again, why delete/modify anything on the 12th?
And just to be clear, amateurs use R-Studio. It's an off the shelf data recovery tool. Not exactly "forensic" as if they really wanted to hide any "evidence" you need an electron microscope and a clean room to recover the data>
Yet this 800+ USD program has found files that were deleted/modified on the 12th. And an electron microscope? Is this clown really this dumb?

However, someone working for the "County election officials" may have deleted a directory...
Responding to idiotic twitter comments
