Hope it works though. I've had countless encounters with "those people" who just do not understand straight up in your face sarcasm, much less the more subtle inflections that can be used like in the OP's example....which was brilliant.

All of this. And the media pretends to not get sarcasm too. Or anything about spoken language.

Ex: in December, maybe Novemer, Trump says something like "Biden won these votes in a fraudulent way" and all online news articles and videos were titled "TRUMP FINALLY CONCEDES! HE ADMITTED DEFEAT!" lol these people have such disdain for their own audience, who will believe almost literally anything they tell them.
