To be fair 'real' science have more and more adopted the modus operandi of the left side of that cartoon due to weak and frail egos and less and less effort seeming to be put into separating the chaff from the wheat during scientist's 'education'...
It used to be that a scientist that came up with a hypothesis did everything they could to disprove that hypothesis and only if they couldn't would they see it as something that may have some merit and warrant further study.
Now 'scientists' come up with a hypothesis and do everything they can to prove that hypothesis with frail egos often choosing to ignore things suggesting flaws or lack of merit to it.
Easy does not build strength and intelligence, somewhere along the line science as an institution lost sight of hard and difficult actually being good things and something to strive for...
