Idol is just fake news. People
are casted to record multiple auditions, one good where they nail their songs followed by cheering and Hollywood festivities, and one bad with bad singing followed by ugly crying and frustration.
The in the middle auditons, like where the girls look pretty (almost model like) and the singing is just good enough so they don't get destroyed but they don't move on to finals either are all headhunted from talent agencies and paid in advance
Everyone who makes it to TV films at least 1 hour of B roll footage in case they "win" and the people who are more likely to "win" film 2-4 hours of B roll and interviews.
They run a quick medical survey when you audition. Think some bad conditions would weed you out? No. It's almost a guaranteed in because they drool at the thought of a mid audition heart attack or a massive seizure in the green room. The filmed auditions tend to have 3-4 ambulances on stand by, and one of them is WWE style, made aware they will be filmed and used in storyline.
Voting by phone/text is not real either
Vote for the Worst and 4chan proved it by trying to vote in the most unlikely finalists and they NEVER pulled it off. The fan favorite (biggest demo is women 45-60) "WGWG" always won regardless of vote stuffing from anons
The Idol reboot on ABC with Katy Perry is even more fake, the absolute most scripted "reality show" ever. They do "bus tours" for auditions but every person at those bus tours is prepicked by local ABC affiliates, one "lucky" person from an an actual local audition and the rest all from talent agencies and paid in advanced.
Funny enough the realest of the shows XFactor flopped miserably here while it is still successful in Europe with actual big name judges and Simon Cowell himself.
Had a friend that got on AI last year ... during the Rona nonsense, so all Zoomed. They all loved it but later said if he wanted to come back for the next round he had to meet their conditions and spout some BLM nonsense. He refused and was uninvited.
The non title matches where they tell two guys just go out there and wrestle for x amount of time, doesn't matter who wins, pick it yourself, those are rare but great to see the chemistry between athletes and performers. Lots of the best moments in wresting are happy accidents or unplanned.
If nothing else, American Idol proved THAT much to us XD

Wrestling is more real than idol that's for sure.
