Well, considering that somewhere between 800,000 and 1,000,000 children go missing every year, that is a pitifully small number recovered, no?
I don’t know anyone who’s child has gone missing. Not a friend of a friend , nothing. My entire life, unless it was a National story and there aren’t National stories about 800,000 kids a year. I’ve heard of drownings and accidents. I’m not saying these numbers are wrong, because I haven’t even looked up other numbers, I’m just wondering how something like that is covered up.
Whose children are these? Where are they coming from. Where are the families whose brother was taken at the grocery store in 1998 and never came back? Why isn’t every single one treated like Madeline McCann? Do they only publish the ones that are comms or to brag? Are these foreign children? Are people selling their children and pretending it didn’t happen?
the reporting about child tariffking is real bad becouse most of those interested in this subject are not trained researchers. I don even pretend to no the numbers but one must understand when some one Quotes numbers like 800.000 to 1,000,000 they are not talking about child abduction and disappearance more likely that is the number of children groomed and then molested. there is no money exchange like you think with child trafficking and it is very likely that a child you interact with is having this abuse happen to them right under your nose.
It's true that there are 800k-1million missing children reported each year. 799k-999k show up within a couple of hours/day - usually a misunderstanding. As someone has already posted, you would know multiple people who have had their children abducted if there were this many abducted. To be clear - it would mean around 1 out of 80 children go missing every year. Means there would be a greater than 10% chance for each kid in the US to go missing. Considering you don't know anyone who has lost their children, you know intuitively this is a very misleading statistic.
Most the children that go missing are from other countries especially third world countries. The ones being taken from the US are typically from Orphanages or they're foster kids so many of the parents will just call it a run away and then its back into the state systems to care. Also, not all the children die either. I've met three people who were trafficked. One as an 8 year old and his parents were in on it, they sold him. Another was in her teens and trafficked around Chinese strip clubs and underground tunnels. The third person I know was an adult who started selling drugs and disappeared for 2 years. She came back and told us all that she had been trafficked that whole time and by the grace of god she was rescued because they delivered her to the wrong address. She is now dead 1 year after her rescue. I didn't ask her family what happened though. I'm just guessing you don't live in the Ghetto or have friends in the Ghetto. These tragedies aren't happening to wealthy or middle class families as often so its easy to live your life blessed and not notice the children disappearing.
My nephew was almost scooped up at age 7. Well dressed people in a Mercedes.
Plus I'm willing to bet that it's only a 'record high' because someone tipped them off about a trafficking ring and they found a large chunk of the kids in a single raid.

Why is this now only becoming an issue??!! How many decades were missing children posted on milk cartons? How many are posted in Walmart? I know the U.S. Marshall's Service is primarily focused on escapee manhunts and the transport of prisoners across state lines, but this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
OUR CHILDREN ARE WORTH MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE ON THE PLANET. SO WHY IN THE FUCK ARE OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES NOT SPOTLIGHTING THIS EPIDEMIC?

For one source, consider the number of children that have been "lost" after being placed by Child Protective Services. In some states, it is nearly non existent but in others it is a VERY big number.
