Excellent logic. I agree. As distasteful as it may be, it was either this, or a whole other brand of hell on earth that would have been played out for many years to come. This to me is something akin to 'ripping off the bandaid'.
Or they could have just exposed what was going on before the vaccine was released? Unless they know the cognitive dissonance would defeat any and all attempts to expose, which based on the reactions to HCQ, is probably true.
