Hi Anon,Australians are still well armed, officially no semi autos,unofficially,that is a very different matter.Since the Federal ban on semi autos in1996,gun ownership has increased.

Just like the US,the guns are mainly in the hands of quiet,responsible people who are target shooters,hunters and these people often have a military background.

All is not lost yet,by a long shot.
