Yeah. They did the speed racer remake my family loves to.
They became trannies when it first became the popular thing to do. Movies have sucked since then.
There's alot of men who become women and women who become men in the power structure of elites.
Makes you wonder if it is required of them, such as getting a black eye for those in the black eye club.
Humiliation blackmail.
I came to make a similar point.
Rewatched the trilogy because my wife had never seen it, and while it still holds up really well, it is purely a high school boy mentality behind all action sequences.
"And then get this, he stands back up and all the agents start shooting at him and he got so powerful that he just put his hand out and stops the bullets. And then he grabs one out of the air to show that getting shot just pissed him off so he runs right through the agents chest and explodes him." - how I might have described that sequence as a teenager.
I think you nailed it, and my wife had made comments on those lines.
The biggest hit to me is that action scenes, what seemed so cool when it first came out, now can almost see the harnesses and wires. That really pulled me out.
As for your review I agree completely, gets me thinking of the anime ghost in the shell, watched it when i was younger and it had a deep philosophical perspective, while having some pretty badass action. (And anytime you can add nudity as a functional necessity) but then gets remade and they stripped the philosophical discussion so far on the back burner that the final battle loses all meaning beyond the protagonist is being attacked. Not that it was that extreme in the sequels.
