And, in many school districts homeschoolers have access to sports and other extra-curriculum activities in their districts. My grandchildren have been homeschooled since the Covid lockdowns. They are now a grade ahead of their peers. Previously they were struggling to keep up.They're also much happier, more curious about most subjects, and healthier as well.
And homeschoolers can share including parent teachers. If 1 parent is great in history, another home ec, another social graces, etc. I know of a church that rents out its hall for homeschooling parents and kids to interact. very successful
What; are there rules against homeschoolers joining regular / standard little league & soccer programs that aren't put on by schools, but other organizations?
I just checked and The little league club in my area is affiliated with a nation-wide non-profit little league group.
I doubt there's any reason that homeschooled kids wouldn't be able to join a league like this....
I was homschooled and back in the 90s I played little league sponsored by the city, so anyone could join. This was in Oklahoma and back then I heard that I could join public school activities because we pay for it with our taxes, but we never did.
Side note, Oklahoma has homeschool rights in its state constitution from inception. When I finished homeschool, I went to a state college, no diploma or GED required, and when I got an associate degree, I applied for and received an honorary high school diploma from the state. I wish more states were like this. They didn't let my situation get in the way of my progress.
