BBC is pretty much MI7- all (or most of the staff go through the same routes- early media, politics / political coverage & important posts). So BBC and Bashir would be perfectly compatible. (another rabbit hole, BBC journo's last careers)
Bashir (confirm needed) is a mason and would be likely just saying whatever they currently need him to say to stay alive (at personal cost it seems, but he could do a disappearing act if he needs to- relocate, re-face + print etc with their assistance- without it he's dead- that's why the media report he's not well- it's likely a threat to Bashir- 'look, we said he was unwell shortly before his ''heart attack'' '). If you catch my drift...
I'm still digging (thank you!) but this element struck out at me in your second link in the section: Who is Martin Bashir.
Awfully coincidental timing that he resigned May 2021 (current month) and now all of these stories are coming out?
Who did he work with present day?
What orgs was he a part of before he got his big break?
edit to add: Who is Bashir actually working for? Because it's not the BBC...
