Their focus is the nose and throat area, which is likely the weak point were flu virus enter. I think there is some effect, but degrading virus particles takes time -- it may work as a preventive measure as long as the virus particles introduced is low.

Zapping nanoparticles to kill cancer cells is common research. But virus replicates inside normal cells. How to target them? Ferretin cannot magically seek virus-infected cells. It's not a smart nanobot. Targeting is an issue here.
