Quote "I haven't seen anyone else talking about this, but I feel like I'm going insane:
The 1% short a company to death.
The 1% destroy jobs for innocent people.
The 1% lobby and cut off unemployment for the same people whose job they destroyed.
The media then calls the people who lost their job, through no fault of their own, lazy and entitled for needing unemployment.
The 1% refuse to raise wages after stealing your job, money, investments, and stability.
People are forced from one wage slave job to another, thus cementing poverty. All the while, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Am I the only one noticing this? Is this not a big fucking deal? Is this entire country, government, and media not perpetuating poverty and class war? What do we do about this? How do we even begin to recover from this? Is there enough prisons for all of these people to fit?"
People are waking up on the superstonk reddit!
There are some scum that occupy the 1% but by enlarge, America's wealth is made up of self made individuals. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer is a false narrative. A study outline in the book "millionaire next door" shows that over 80% of millionaires in this country are self-made and by the 3rd gen, most wealth is squandered. If you are sitting around broke in the age of the internet, you have no one to blame but yourself. Work hard, save and invest consistently, and it will come to you over time.
Also studies that sadly I don't have at hand, but for the most part in America financial status is very fluid. Poor get richer as much as rich get poorer.
Unsurprising, given that some rich people are self-made while others inherited and were spoiled rotten.
Similarly, the poor have people that will move mountains, while others are happy with less, with even others doing everything to stay poor while perpetually blaming others for their choices.
