So, it’s finally happened... my 100% remote company was just told that, some day in July, we would all be required to come in, at the same time, one day a week.
And now co-workers are asking everyone on Slack about who has been vaccinated and making thinly veiled sarcastic jokes about how they’ll ask everyone to show their papers.
I actually had to remind one of them that he was anti-vaccine back in December and January, before he suddenly flipped (but I’m sure he’s very smart and did not base his opinion solely on what CNN says at any given moment).
Boss hasn’t mandated the vaccine yet, but it’s coming.
I don’t normally post, but I need moral support! The fight has finally come to my door, and now I either need to just quit real soon and find something else, or prepare for how I stand my ground!
So theyre changing from being remote to make it more necessary to get the vax lole2
To be fair, we weren’t 100% remote before COVID, but several employees were insisting on it and the direction was towards very few days in the office.
COVID accelerated that and made us 100% remote for over a year. There was always a vague notion of “coming back to the office once in a while” that never materialized and most co-workers said they had no interest.
What scares me is how quickly my co-workers went from “I’m never going to go back to the office regularly” to “let’s shame all the anti-vaxxers who refuse to come in!”
Group think and herd mentality is a hell of a drug.
wow yea it is literally INSANE. i'm job hunting and dreading being around cucks like this all the time
