The bible taking stories from other religions sounds like the zeitgeist BS from new ager Acharya S. None of the supposed theories that support this are accurate with reality. What it does support is the idea that all various histories (old religions) are crafted around a central narrative, though they often distort it into angel/nephilim worship, gnosticism, etc. It's what you would expect when Satan's primary tactic from all the way back in Eden has been distortion of truth.
On the other hand, yeah, a lot of things do have elements of truth. Meditation can be great for the mind, yoga stretches are probably great for the body, Islamic tendencies to keep pushing forward are probably great for keeping communities close - there are lots of small truths, but only one ultimate Truth. That's the distinction, my friend.
The opposite is, ultimately, trying to create a God in our image instead of accepting we were created in His image.
