5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Or Psalm 2:11-12?
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Yes, praise the Lord believers are not appointed to God's wrath by the mercy and justification of the Savior's blood.
I mostly wanted to challenge the notion that there is no punishment from God, especially since it followed the "God is love and light" phrase. God is love...but He's also just and Holy and a righteous judge. "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
Yeah, can you imagine seeing Him?? Even Moses, not having even seen Him directly, had to be kept in a tent for days because he glowed so brightly afterward. Our spiritual bodies will be so different though. Imagine what God created in 7 days, and then imagine what Jesus the carpenter has been preparing for us for the last 2000+ years.
The law reigned and condemned all, but justification happened the same way in the OT. God attributed righteousness to Abraham for his faith.
Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Noah was similar:
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
How do you reconcile Psalm 5:5?
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Or Psalm 2:11-12?
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
There is the "fear of God"
If you're in Christ, you will never receive His wrath. If you're not in Christ, that's a different story.
But I'm pretty sure if any of us actually saw God in his fullness we would be frickin' terrified

The Godless shall not rise, God hates the doers of evil.
