It's because it gets you things. I've had talks with black people I worked with who said they know how white people treat them, and they take advantage of it.
I have had discussion with several non US black friends and they think the way some white people are subjugating themselvs to racist bs is putred and disgusting. They view all the BLM stuff as a great threat. Specifically those from Rwanda. They do not understand why people are supporting people who seek to oppress them and cannot fathom why they are not opening their eyes and standing up for themselves.
I think its socially normalized fear. People have been conditioned to fear speaking out against actions committed by blacks and retribution is expected for doing so. People feel they cant say or do anything about it without it being a fight.

I think it comes down to the victim mentality.
