I like this. She could still be off in some regard, but she has a long line of congruent, intersecting, supportive, and consequent events tied together. IMO this is the right direction rather than focusing on a few incidents or persons. Real plots have a wide reach, no matter how clandestine. There are always supporting characters and events, even though the supporters may be innocent and the events unplanned.

I have always liked Millie, she has some drama surrounding her and sometimes her sources embellish things. But she puts together a decent report. Not hard to watch either.

Either the FBI top brass are ‘keystone cops’ chasing their tails from nooses to trespassers, OR involved in these clandestine operations and complicit in covering them up.
