It's hard to believe $600,000 could do this much damage. That's like a year's worth of research budget for a handful of people. If it were that easy everyone would be refinancing their house to work on world domination plans as a side hustle.
$600k USD is like $3m+ CNY. So that could be part of it. And it also could be that there was way more than $600k given to these entities outside of a paper trail. I mean we send billions in cash on pallets in the middle of the night to people who swear they want to kill us. So why not billions in cash on pallets to people who pretend to like us.
